The budget Unbound tune-up
Gravel Locos is a multi-distance gravel event based in Hico, Texas, on the northern edge of Hill Country. Routes use smooth, fast limestone gravel, open ranch roads, pavement connectors, repeated rollers, occasional chunky patches, and water crossings. Late-May sun and limited shade make heat management, pacing, and hydration central to the day.
For riders building toward a steady finish, this 12-week plan uses 7–11 hours per week to develop endurance on rolling terrain, measured pacing, regular eating and drinking, and comfort riding in warm conditions. Longer rides finish with controlled work on rolling roads so effort stays even after fatigue builds.
INSIDE THE FINISHER PLAN — 7–11 HR/WK
Includes zone-tailored structured rides for your devices, built-in strength with video walkthroughs, heat-training protocols for racing in the hot stuff, peloton skills workouts, weekly coach notes + the Gravel Grit mental program, and nutrition and hydration guidance.

The Complete Gravel Locos Guide — the training, the tactics, the gear and race day, explained simply and clearly: what to do, when to do it, and why it works.

Hey! I'm Matti - also known as the Gravel God himself!
If you're into gravel racing and want to be as fast as possible, you had better choose me!
Why?
Because I'm the fastest, least talented person to ever ride a bike. I've made every mistake in the book so you don't have to and I'm here to save you years of failure and struggle.
When I'm not helping my athletes get faster on a bike I write obvious, overlooked training content that makes cycling training easy to understand.
