Plan Description
This 6 week FOUNDATION BLOCK is a plan designed for all athletes with at least some background in Triathlon training and/or competition, but is suitable for beginner to advanced athletes. The purpose of this plan is to turn the so-called "Off Season" into a Foundation building time to develop the discipline to follow a structured plan and to gain enough Base Endurance, along with some Speed focused sessions, to be ready to begin a formal Event focused Season Plan going forward. All too often we tend to take too much down time during the winter months and have to regain our fitness before we are ready to really begin training. This Foundation Plan enables us to "hit the ground running" by maintaining our fitness without a lot of pressure to perform. Ideal start time is January or February for maximum effectiveness.
