Plan Description

This is an extreme triathlon plan - designed for races of full/iron distance or slightly further. It has workouts you tailor for the race, including consideration for the tougher conditions of the swim, bike and run. Following an earlier version of the plan, feedback from athletes that successfully used it for black t-shirts at Norseman, blue t-shirts at Celtman along with successful finishes in other xtri races (Canadaman, Swedeman, Swissman and Janosik) has now been incorporated in this new version released in 2023.

Bespoke workouts tailored for the swim, bike and run, including consideration for the course profile, the challenging bike course and unique challenge presented by the run.

It is 24 weeks long and follows a typical pattern of 2 build weeks followed by a recovery week. There is a 3 week taper period.
*Note the swim summary saying longest swim is 30 minutes is not accurate. The longest swim in 4,200m/yards.

It has been designed by a Triathlon Certified Coach, who has coached athletes to podiums at Xtri races, such as Icon, as well as coaching athletes for Norseman, Celtman, Swedeman and Swissman. He has personally completed multiple extreme triathlon races, including the Swissman Xtreme Triathlon, Celtman Xtreme Triathlon and Swedeman Xtreme Triathlon.
