Plan Description
10-Week Half Marathon Training Plan
This plan is for either newer runners looking to increase their mileage or experienced runners with less available training time whilst aiming for peak performance on race day. If you want a personal best, our plan will help you succeed.
Key Features of the Plan
- 3-4 runs per week, each around an hour long.
- Mix of long runs, tempo runs, intervals, and easy runs.
- Guidance is provided on which sessions can be swapped for club runs, allowing you to maintain your social runs.
- Structured progression to ensure consistent improvement without overwhelming your schedule.
Recommended Starting Ability
- Comfortably run for at least an hour an a half before starting.
10-Week Structured Progression
Our plan is divided into two 5-week blocks, ensuring steady progress:
- Block 1: Focuses on building a solid endurance base while incorporating speed work through steady runs and pace sharpening workouts.
- Block 2: Shifts to race pace and peaking, gradually increasing the duration of race pace efforts, with a taper for race day.
Overcoming Race Pace Challenges
Maintaining race pace can be tough, but our plan includes race pace sessions to build confidence and stamina, ensuring race day feels natural.
