WHO THIS PROGRAM IS FOR:
This 6-week comprehensive endurance program is specifically designed for beginner to intermediate outrigger and dragon boat paddlers who want to build a solid aerobic foundation. This program is perfect for paddlers who are new to longer distances, those who fade quickly during training sessions, or paddlers looking to build the endurance base needed for consistent performance. Whether you're preparing for your first longer race, want to keep up with your crew for full sessions, or simply want to build the stamina to enjoy longer paddles, the TLC WATER BEAST will develop your endurance foundation.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
You'll complete 2 manageable on-water sessions per week, progressively building from 60 to 80 minutes per session. Each workout features a structured warm-up, endurance-focused main set, and proper cool-down. The program systematically increases intensity and duration over 3-week cycles, developing your aerobic capacity and building the mental confidence for sustained efforts. Perfect for paddlers who want to build endurance without overwhelming their schedule.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
- Access to water (outrigger canoe, dragon boat, or similar paddling craft)
- Your paddle
- Heart rate monitor (recommended for pacing guidance)
- Water and light snacks for longer sessions
- A way to track your sessions (smartphone or GPS watch)
