This is a training plan specifically designed around what I used to do on a GNCC race week as a professional ATV racer. You can use it for any GNCC throughout the year, as the general structure and workouts should remain the same on race week. I put in an option for riding the moto or doing an interval session on the bike. Seat time on the moto should always take place of a high intensity training session. Keep the hard days hard, and the easy days easy. I also take into account the logistics of travel in that many will not be available to train on Thursday, and that Wednesday is best as a minimal equipment easy jog while racers are busy packing and preparing for the race weekend.
As an endurance sports coach, I combine my knowledge of sports science with my 5+ years of experience as a professional athlete to guide others in their endurance sports journeys. My areas of expertise include XCO mountain biking and GNCC off-road racing, both of which I have experience with at a professional level. I continue to learn and compete to this day as a pro cross-country mountain biker, ranked top 5 in the USA, and top 100 in the UCI world ranking.
