Welcome to the RIAK Swim Technique Developer Series!

FIRST STEPS
Before getting started, please note this is not a typical training plan but a collection of sessions for you to manage as necessary to help you take control of your own swim stroke development. It is also definitely worth trying to understand what you should be trying to achieve with this series and where we would like you to get to with your swim technique. HOW THE SERIES WORKS
This series consists of 30 warm-up and drill sets. Some of the sets are repeated a few times. The reason for this is that making adjustment to your neuromuscular pathways (the mind-muscle connection) takes time and a lot of repetition before it becomes habitual. Therefore, if you feel that you need to repeat a warm-up set more than suggested in this series, you should feel free to do so and we really encourage you to see this attempt at technique development as a long-term process.

The expectation is that you will use the provided warm-up & drill sets in conjunction with a main conditioning set such as from one of our other swim series plans and replace the warm-ups in those sessions for the ones in this series.

Each warm-up & drill set is designed to be around 400m in length. So you should be nice and warm and focused for moving on to your separate conditioning set.

2) a pull buoy.
