Plan Description

This is a 12-week plan to prepare beginner to intermediate cyclists for the 2024 SB 250 charity ride or similar events. The plan is free to registered riders. You will recieve a code upon registration for the 2024 SB 250. For registration details see the link below, https://www.sbtx.org/sb-250 The event day is in late June The SB 250 is a two-day supported charity ride from McAllen to San Antonio, Texas to raise money for Spina Bifida Texas. Day 1 starts in McAllen and ends in Freer, Texas (150 miles). Day 2 starts in Freer and ends in San Antonio, Texas (115 miles). There are multiple supported food/water stops along the course each day (~ every 20 miles). There are time cut-offs each day for rider safety. This plan uses distance and rate of perceived excertion (RPE) to grade intensity so you do not need a heart rate monitor or power meter. You can ride by feel and with a simple cycling computer to measure distance and speed. Rate or percieved exersion on the Borg scale is explained on the first day of the plan. This plan is for beginner to imtermediate riders who can currently comfortably ride 1 to 2 hours at 14- 16 miles per hour average speeds.
