This is a bike packing plan that helps you build your specific fitness for a bike packing adventure.
The ideas in this plan have been used by people who have finished 1-2 week bike packing trips, long weekend trips and higher intensity 'FKT' or fast-bike-packs.
Is This Plan For You?
This plan assumes you have some fitness base coming into these last 2 months but it is flexible to add time/challenge depending your ability/experience AND the demands of your trip.
If you are on the extremes of being very elite (or doing something very extreme) or very new and nervous about a first bike packing trip then please consider a phone consultation, if not a custom 3-Month Training Plan to better address your ability and goals. (see below)
What Does It Include?
Structured Workout Downloads are included for most bike workouts ( for Garmin / Zwift Etc ). Some workouts do not have download to keep thing simple and provide freedom from focus and devices! (e.g. ride endurance for 3 hours).
Because this is the last 2 months before your event/adventure it is assumed you will aim to get outside on your bike packing bike at least 1x per week.
A basic core routine and 1-2 weekly yoga sessions are provided and encouraged throughout the plan
You can use this plan by HR, Power or RPE - you do not need to use downloads as the title and description of each workout should allow for completion of the key elements of the workout.
The plan ranges between 6-16 hours a week depending on whether you extend workouts and do optional workouts (or not!). Options to extend are are noted and are your description based on your schedule, fitness and goals.
