This program targets intermediate/advanced triathletes who are entering the bulk of their race season (mid-late season training/racing) and are looking to eek out that extra 1% of performance. Maximal power generation and tendon elasticity are targeted through discipline specific plyometrics. Maximal strength is still of focus, with higher weight, lower volume, and increased rest intervals to allow for muscular adaptation without impairing the athletes capacity for their endurance training.
Athletes will receive weekly check-in calls/emails to assess their progress and allow for questions.
Equipment for this phase includes free weights, cables/at-home resistance bands, stability balls, PLYO boxes/steps.
This is part 3 of a 3-part triathlon-specific strength series. Upon completion of this program, it can be repeated during peak race season/championship phase racing. Athletes can also return to parts 1 and 2 of the series for continued focus on movement efficiency and strength maintenance.
