In partnership with Mammoth Endurance, we are excited to offer this race specific RUN training plan for your SOLO 💪 DOUBLE ANVIL TRIATHLON. This 12-week training plan is for the 52.4 mile ULTRA RUN portion of your race. Separate downloadable cycling and swimming plans for the solo triathlon are also available. This treadmill-integrated ultra plan revs up from 3 up to 4 days per week of running that leaves more time for recovery. Athletes should be comfortable running 3-4 hours continuously or have a marathon base prior to starting this plan. If you need a longer base training, start with the 1.5X running planning prior to this plan. The peak week consists of 8.5 hours of running. The plan features a 2-day back to back long run in the endurance phase. Time-on-feet and Rate of Perceived Exertion will be used to guide your training. This simulates a longer distance while reducing the stress and injury risk. The taper phase is 2 weeks, allowing for flexibility in race scheduling and leaving you physically recovered and mentally inspired. Athletes will benefit from the use of the treadmill as a tool to gain mental strength, simulating the short loop course. This detailed plan includes weekly training goals.
Engaging in ultra distances endurance sports should be cleared by your primary care physician.
