INTRODUCTION
The Horsepower Coaching Performance Breathwork Program - Tolerance Package focusses on developing your tolerance to lactic acid, increasing your aerobic and anaerobic thresholds through static and active breathwork practices.
This program can be completed on a monthly basis up until 6-7 weeks before your A Race or competition when you should switch to the Horsepower Coaching Performance Breathwork Program - Race Preparation module available on TrainingPeaks.
KEY FOCUS
This phase will improve your functional breathing, improve your ability to use the oxygen you breathe and improve your aerobic and anaerobic capacity.
All of these improvements will translate to significantly increased performance in your chosen discipline but also improvements in your general health and wellbeing.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
To get the most from this plan you also need to support your body in producing extra red blood cells. You should choose foods high in iron and supplements including:
- B vitamins (B3, B6, B12, B complex and folic acid, B9)
- Vitamins A and E
- Vitamin C
- Minerals including zinc, selenium and copper
- Kelp and garlic
- Probiotics and digestive enzymes
