Plan Description
Wanting to train for a triathlon in 2024 but the goal seems too far? Wanting to start getting ahead of the 2024 season and get your body ready for future, harder workouts? Lacking motivation to train during the cold and dark months but don´t want to lose the fitness you worked so hard for this year? Or maybe you are looking to do your first triathlon next year but don´t know how to start? THEN THIS PLAN IS FOR YOU!
The main goal is to work on the aerobic (endurance) base. This is mostly done working at low intensities.
Why working on the base? Development our aerobic fitness, efficiency and conditioning. We are trying to prepare the body for a higher workload later on in the training cycle so that we do not risk injuring ourselves doing something that our bodies are not yet ready for.
KEY THINGS FOR THIS PLAN:
1) Setup your training zones correctly
2) Intensity control - it is very important to keep intensity low and don´t go above the prescribed intensity. A common mistake is to go too hard, risking injuries and overtraining. This plan is all about easy, building the base.
3) Adjust volume to your level, if the duration seems too much then start with a bit less, if you are a more experienced athlete feel free to increase the duration of the sessions.
