York Sprint Triathlon Official Training Plan
Program Overview
This plan is built as a friendly on-ramp for beginners stepping into their first sprint triathlon. Think of it as a guided tour rather than a forced march: every session is effort-based (RPE), so athletes learn to listen to their bodies and build confidence without chasing numbers they’re not ready for yet. The tone is deliberately encouraging, teaching pacing, consistency, and comfort across all three sports. Workouts gradually increase in complexity and duration, but always in a way that feels manageable, like someone is quietly turning the dial instead of flipping a switch.
By the time race day arrives, athletes will know how each intensity feels, how to link disciplines smoothly, and how to approach the course with poise. It’s practical, welcoming, and built specifically for new triathletes looking for a structured, supportive introduction to training.
