Plan Description
This plan is written by British Triathlon High Performing Coach and L4 strength coach Simon Olney to help you follow a structured strength routine in the buildup to a sprint triathlon.
This plan is primarily focused on helping you become a faster, more powerful athlete, however it will have the added benefit of reducing your risk of injury. Due to the nature of this plan, I recommend you have a baseline of experience lifting weights before beginning this programme.
The plan includes two sessions a week during the first five weeks to build a foundation of strength, before switching to one session a week for the last ten weeks, to allow for a focus on swimming, cycling and running.
