Is This Plan For You?
This 24-week Olympic Distance Maintenance Phase plan by GA Endurance is designed for triathletes who want to maintain fitness, preserve endurance, and stay race-ready between key training cycles or racing seasons.
Rather than focusing on peak performance, this plan emphasizes consistency, aerobic maintenance, technical development, and long-term durability while reducing the physical and mental demands associated with full race-specific preparation.
It is ideal for athletes who have already built a solid fitness foundation and want to maintain their current level while preparing for a future race-focused training block.
What You Can Expect
• A complete 24-week structured maintenance progression
• Training designed to preserve aerobic fitness and endurance capacity
• Balanced swim, bike, and run development without excessive training stress
• Swim sessions focused on technique, efficiency, and aerobic conditioning
• Bike workouts designed to maintain endurance, pedaling economy, and aerobic power
• Run sessions focused on durability, consistency, and aerobic development
• Moderate training loads that support long-term sustainability
• Periodic strength and endurance stimulus to maintain fitness across all disciplines
• Recovery weeks strategically placed to support adaptation and prevent burnout

Final Note
This plan is designed to help you maintain a strong aerobic foundation while avoiding the fatigue and demands associated with year-round race-specific training.
The final phase of the program is intentionally structured to create a smooth transition into a dedicated Olympic Distance race-preparation block. By the completion of this maintenance cycle, you will be well-positioned to begin a focused 16-week race-specific build with the fitness, consistency, and durability already in place.
