Plan Description

12-Week Olympic Distance Triathlon Training Plan

This 12-week plan is designed for beginner triathletes preparing for their first Olympic distance triathlon (1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run).

The focus is on building endurance gradually while keeping training simple, balanced, and realistic for a busy schedule. Each week includes a mix of swim, bike, and run sessions with clear structure and purpose, plus rest to help you recover and stay consistent.

You should be comfortable swimming at least 400 m, biking for 60 minutes, and running for 30 minutes before starting the plan.

The program includes steady endurance workouts, light intensity work, short brick sessions, and a short taper leading into race week. No advanced equipment is required, and workouts can be done indoors or outdoors.

By race day, you’ll be prepared to finish strong and confident.
