Week-by-week plan to race your Ironman (140.6) strong - 16 weeks, built by a coach.
For the athlete who has a 70.3 or Olympic behind them and wants more than just a finish. Three big weeks, one easier week, repeat - so you absorb the training instead of breaking down - then a real 2-week taper so you arrive fresh. Every session is structured with exact power, pace, and heart-rate targets that sync straight to Zwift, Garmin, and your watch. No guessing what "steady" means.
You will build to a 5.5-hour ride, a 19-mile run, and 13-14 hour peak weeks - the fitness to race 140.6, not just survive it. Race week ends with a full race-morning checklist and a pacing plan: swim 2.4 miles comfortable-hard, ride 112 miles at 65-75% FTP with fueling every hour, then run the marathon patient until mile 20.
Before you start: swim 2000m continuously, ride 3 hours, and run 10 miles comfortably.
You're putting in the work, but something isn't clicking - same pace, a nagging injury, or a plan that doesn't fit your life. I build training around you: your fitness, your schedule, your goals. I'm Bryce Beckstrand - 15 years racing everything from 5Ks to a full Ironman, still racing, and I never ask you to do something I'm not doing too.
