The plan mirrors the race itself: two ocean-swim laps, a fast coastal bike, and a four-loop beachfront run. Every phase builds the specific endurance and efficiency needed to perform in tropical conditions.
🏊 Swim Preparedness – Progressive open-water drills and pacing sessions develop confidence for the 3.8 km triangle-course start at Bien Dong Park. Technique videos and aerobic intervals help you master sighting and steady effort in warm 29 °C / 84 °F water.
🚴 Bike Endurance & Power – Long rides, tempo blocks, and aerodynamic position work simulate Da Nang’s 180 km coastal route along Vo Nguyen Giap and the Thuan Phuoc Bridge. You’ll learn to manage heat, hydration, and steady wattage across bridges, ocean winds, and inland flats.
🏃 Run Strength & Pacing – Brick sessions and cadence training prepare you for the four 10.5 km loops along Vo Nguyen Giap Road. Each workout refines pacing, fueling, and mental focus—key to holding form under tropical humidity and crowd energy.
💪 Phase 1 – Foundation (12 weeks): Develop aerobic base and discipline consistency, beginning at 4.5 hours per week and building to 6 hours.
🔥 Phase 2 – Performance (24 weeks): Transition to race-specific endurance, climbing from 7.5 to 14.5 hours per week with targeted bricks, tempo efforts, and recovery cycles following a 3 : 1 load-to-rest structure.
