Plan Goal
Build to a calm, controlled, and resilient 140.6 finish — a composed swim, a disciplined bike, and a patient marathon executed under fatigue.
This plan is designed to prepare you not just to finish, but to execute well across a full-distance race. The focus is durability, pacing discipline, and consistency over time, so you arrive on the start line confident, prepared, and able to make good decisions late in the race.
How We Guide Intensity (Clear & Flexible)
This plan uses objective metrics as the default, with RPE built in as a deliberate fallback — not a compromise.
Swim: guided primarily by pace per 100m, supported by RPE for longer and open-water efforts.
Bike: power-led by default to reinforce discipline, efficiency, and fatigue management over long durations. When terrain, conditions, or equipment make power unreliable, sessions can be executed confidently using RPE.
Run: guided mainly by heart rate and RPE, with pace used selectively for structure early in the build. As fatigue accumulates, effort awareness takes priority over pace control.
This approach reflects the reality of full-distance racing: numbers guide you early; judgement carries you home.
