The Long Distance Triathlon Taiwan is a stunning yet demanding course—calm lake waters, a scenic coastal ride, and a humid four-lap run through Taitung. Our six-month Full Distance Triathlon training plan is built to help you perform your best on this course, with expert structure and proven strategies tailored for intermediate triathletes.

Here’s how our plan gets you race-ready for Taiwan’s Full Distance Triathlon:

✅ Swim-Specific Prep for Flowing Lake
Train for the 3.8 km two-lap swim with structured open-water swim sessions, drills to improve sighting and stroke efficiency, and pacing strategies ideal for Taiwan’s calm, non-tidal lake.

✅ Dialed-In Bike Conditioning for Highway 11
Prepare for the 180 km coastal ride—complete with ocean winds and rolling terrain—through long aerobic rides, power-based intervals, and climbing sessions designed for ~1,200m elevation gain. You'll be ready for the scenic yet demanding roads of the east coast.

✅ Run Strong in Taitung’s Heat and Humidity
With four laps of a flat, ocean-hugging marathon ahead, our plan builds your durability through brick workouts, heat-adaptation sessions, and race-pace intervals. Aid station timing is mirrored in your long runs to simulate in-race fueling.

✅ Structured, Smart Training
We follow a 3-week build, 1-week recovery cycle to maximize gains without burnout. Expect VO₂ intervals from Week 1, with training ramping from 8 to 16 hours weekly—perfect for the time-crunched athlete with big goals.
