The Full Distance Triathlon Taiwan presents a unique challenge—with a calm freshwater lake swim, a coastal ride along Highway 11, and a four-lap marathon through urban and park paths under humid skies. Our six-month beginner-friendly Full Distance triathlon training plan is designed to prepare you physically, mentally, and logistically for success on race day.
✅ Swim Preparedness for Flowing Lake
With two clockwise laps in clear, calm freshwater, swim efficiency and endurance are key. Our plan includes structured technique-focused swim sessions and video-based drills to boost your confidence and speed in non-tidal lake conditions.
✅ Bike Endurance for Coastal Highway 11
The 180 km bike leg features a mix of rolling terrain and scenic coastal views with potential wind and heat exposure. You’ll build gradually from a solid aerobic base to long endurance rides, with specific workouts targeting pacing, hydration strategy, and moderate climbing—mirroring Taiwan’s 1,200 meters of elevation gain.
✅ Run Durability for the Humid Marathon
Four flat laps through Taitung’s shaded parks and city streets demand both consistency and smart heat management. You’ll train with RPE- and HR-based sessions, progressive long runs, and race-pace workouts—preparing you to stay strong through each 10.5 km loop.
