Prepare to thrive on one of Asia’s most breathtaking and demanding Full Distance Triathlon courses with our 24-week High Performance Amateur Training Plan—engineered for athletes targeting success at Full Distance Triathlon Taiwan.

🌟 Built for Committed Age-Group Triathletes — Not for Beginners 🌟
Important: Before starting this plan, you must have a solid aerobic foundation. That means at least 8–10 hours of consistent weekly training for 8–12 weeks, including swim, bike, and run sessions. This program begins with intensity from week one—no base, no start.

From the calm waters of Flowing Lake to the rolling bike leg on Highway 11 and the humid, four-lap marathon through Taitung, this plan is your blueprint for success.

✅ Swim Training for Flowing Lake Conditions
Refine your stroke and pacing with structured pool and open water swim sessions. Video-based technique drills help you glide efficiently through Flowing Lake’s clear, non-tidal waters—ideal for strong starts and faster swim splits.

✅ Bike Preparation for Taiwan’s Scenic Coastline
With endurance aerobic rides, anaerobic threshold intervals, and hill strength sessions, this plan prepares you for the 180 km ride along Highway 11, including its mix of rolling terrain, moderate climbs (~1,200m), and potential coastal winds. Power- and heart-rate-based training teaches you how to pace under sun and fatigue.

✅ Run Strategy for Taitung’s Humid, Flat Course
You’ll train with purpose across VO₂ max intervals, tempo sessions, and long runs designed to simulate the 42.2 km, 4-lap, out-and-back course. Brick workouts sharpen your transition efficiency, and heat-adaptation strategies help manage Taiwan’s humid race-day conditions.

Build volume gradually from 10.5 to 18 hours per week, with recovery weeks and taper included. The plan follows a proven structure to elevate endurance, durability, and speed—right when you need it most.
