As Senior Triathlete 60+ ready to rise to the challenge of the Full Distance Triathlon in Cascais, Portugal you know this race is no small feat—from the rolling 3.8km swim in Cascais Bay to the scenic 180km bike through the Portuguese Riviera, capped off by a 42.2km coastal run to Cabo Raso. You need a plan that respects your experience, supports your body, and prepares you for every kilometer.

This Full Distance Triathlon training plan is specifically designed for experienced older athletes who have maintained their fitness and have a solid base of training as this plan continues your endurance journey, reduces injury risk, and boosts confidence so you can perform at your best on race day.

You'll prepare for the cool Atlantic waters (17–19°C) with guided swim technique videos and drills that improve form and reduce drag—ideal for the single-loop, ocean bay swim at Praia da Ribeira.

🚴 Bike Endurance & Power for 180km of Scenic Speed
Long rides, cadence drills, and power-based intervals prepare you for Cascais’s smoother roads, rolling hills, and iconic features like the Estoril F1 Circuit. You’ll train smart to stay strong across both bike loops.

🏃 Marathon-Ready Run Resilience
Structured long runs and brick workouts simulate the energy demands of the three-loop, 325m elevation gain run. We’ll help you manage pacing, nutrition, and mental focus for every step toward Cabo Raso and the cheering crowds at Marina de Cascais.
