From the 3.8 km Adriatic Sea swim, to the fast, scenic 180 km bike through Romagna’s countryside and Salt Pans Nature Park, to the flat 42 km run past Cervia’s medieval walls—this event demands endurance, strategy, and precision. That’s where the Competitive Masters 40+ Six-Month Full Distance Triathlon Training Plan comes in.

Designed specifically for experienced athletes over 40, this 24-week training plan prepares your body and mind for every element of the course. Prerequisite Base: Before you begin, a 4-6 week base endurance training is suggested to ensure you're ready for the intensity. Week one kicks off with VO2 interval training to set the stage for what’s to come.

Swim-Ready Conditioning: Train with open water-specific sessions and technique drills to thrive in the calm, salty waters off Cervia's central beach.
