ABILITY: AGE GROUP TRAINING METRIC: POWER Weekdays & HR Weekends
THIS 16 WEEK PLAN
Is an AGE GROUP ability bike only plan for LONG DISTANCE | IM athletes. It combines perfectly with racestronger®CUSTOM swim and/or run plan modules whose individual ability you choose to create a bespoke programme that trains to your individual strengths in each discipline. ABILITY
'AGE GROUP' means you are an 'at-the-top-of-your-game' biker, high-placing regularly top 5-10% on the bike. You may be a cat 2/3 cyclist or very strong 70.3 biker moving up to IM. CONTENT
Av 6hrs over 3 workouts/week. Peak 7hrs
Fresh, different, highly rated and current. Many sessions pro-derived. We follow strong-before-long, and fast-before-far principles. 16 weeks to go means time to get busy: weekdays feature indoor based endurance and power development, raising FTP, THR and resilience; weekends focus on 'wrap and fill' sessions - easy endurance rides featuring race specific IM intervals. Pre race-day you complete a series of bike leg simulations at varying intensities designed to test run-off ability. Plans feature a 1 week taper, a flexible race week download schedule and full S&C, PLUS free access to the world's most comprehensive endurance racing and training content
