Bike: 88 workouts (129+ hours) using power-based intervals for long-haul efficiency across rural terrain.
Run: 70 sessions (61+ hours) designed for pacing, form, and resilience on the scenic 42.2km course.
Strength: 38 workouts (25+ hours) tailored for injury prevention and masters-specific power.
How It Prepares You for Race Day
Swim – Lake Taupō Ready
Refine technique, improve sighting, and build endurance for the 19°C deep-water start and clockwise course. Stroke drills and aerobic sets mirror race conditions.
Bike – Power for the Rolling Course
Develop power and stamina to handle two laps through Taupō’s countryside. Long rides and bricks simulate sustained effort on roads like Broadlands and Vaile.
Run – Strong Finish Through Town
