With its calm waters, flat coastal roads, and fast, spectator-friendly run laps, Western Australia offers an ideal environment—but only if you're ready. This 36-week Intermediate Full Distance Triathlon Training Plan is purpose-built to prepare you for every aspect of the course:

✅ Swim-Ready Strength & Confidence
Train for the two-lap 3.8KM ocean swim with progressive open water sessions and structured swim drills. The plan develops upper-body endurance early and includes VO2 intervals to simulate ocean conditions. By race day, you’ll be prepared for Busselton’s currents and that short beach run between laps.

✅ Dominate the Flat, Coastal 180KM Bike
The flat terrain and coastal winds require consistent leg strength and strategic pacing. Our plan builds long-ride stamina with Heart Rate/Power-based interval sessions, tempo rides, and indoor bike trainer options. You'll ride into the Tuart Forest ready to stay aero and maintain your pace.

✅ Thrive on the 42.2KM Run by the Jetty
A four-lap, mostly flat run sounds manageable—but only with legs that can still move after 180KM on the bike. With integrated brick workouts, threshold sessions, and endurance track intervals, you’ll finish strong along the Geographe Bay shoreline.

🔥 Start Strong with a 12-Week Base Phase
Perfect if you're starting with limited mileage. Build your aerobic engine, nail technique, and establish training consistency—no prior fitness base required.

💪 Followed by 24 Weeks of Structured, Adaptive Training
Using a 3:1 training/recovery model, we guide you through progressive load phases, increasing from 7 to 16 hours/week. This steady build maximizes adaptation without burnout.
