These 12 weeks lay the metabolic groundwork with progressive volume and endurance testing—culminating in a Brick simulation that exposes early weaknesses in aerobic durability and race-day transitions. Structured on a 3:1 periodization model (three weeks loading, one week deload), this phase is where gains are realized. By modulating intensity and volume, you avoid the plateau trap and optimize your Training Stress Balance (TSB) heading into peak weeks.
