Plan Description

The Full Distance Triathlon in Maryland features a 2.4-mile swim in the brackish tidal waters of the Choptank River, with slight currents to navigate. The swim course ends at the historic Long Wharf with a view of the Chesapeake Bay Lighthouse, with an average water temperature of 72ยฐF (22ยฐC).

The 112-mile bike course is non-technical, consisting of two laps through rural Dorchester County and the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, offering flat terrain with minimal elevation gain. Though not a closed course, traffic is expected to be minimal.

The 26.2-mile run course is flat and features a three-lap out-and-back route along the Choptank River, passing through neighborhoods and downtown Cambridge. Highlights include the house where Annie Oakley lived and the haunted High Street. The course is lined with spectators, especially along Poplar St., with race day weather 68ยฐ F / 20ยฐ C
