Preparing for the Full Distance Triathlon Leeds demands a race-specific plan that builds strength, stamina, and confidence across a challenging course. This 36-week Intermediate Full Distance Triathlon Training Plan is designed to help you meet that challenge — with structured training that aligns directly with the Leeds swim, bike, and run segments.

🏊 Conquer Waterloo Lake with Confidence
The plan includes progressive swim volume and technique drills to prepare you for the 3.8 km open water swim at Waterloo Lake. Two continuous 1.9 km laps with no exit demand pacing and mental resilience — both of which are developed through longer endurance swims and open water-specific workouts.

🚴 Handle Leeds’ Elevation on Two Wheels
The 180 km bike course features over 2,500 m of climbing across three hilly loops. Our plan builds strength and climbing efficiency with:
✔️ Progressive long rides that simulate course distance and terrain
✔️ Interval sessions targeting threshold and VO2 max
✔️ Specific interval repeat workouts to develop power on ascents like Black Hill Road
✔️ Brick workouts to condition your body for strong bike-to-run transitions

🏃 Thrive on the Marathon Through Roundhay Park
The 42.2 km run includes four 10 km laps with rolling elevation. You’ll develop the durability to hold pace with:

✔️ Run workouts off the bike to simulate race fatigue
