Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, offers one of Europe’s most compelling Full Distance Triathlon experiences. With a calm, single-loop 3.8 km swim in Ulibarri-Gamboa Lake, a 180.2 km bike course that winds through the Álava region and along the Camino de Santiago, and a flat, fast 42.2 km run through a crowd-filled city center, this course demands not only endurance but smart, targeted preparation.

The 36-week Full Distance Triathlon Beginner Training Plan is built to prepare you for exactly these conditions—with a phased approach designed to help athletes over time rather than overwhelm from the start. Whether your goal is simply to finish or to race confidently, this plan helps you develop the skills and aerobic capacity needed for success in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Build endurance gradually from 4.5 to 6 hours per week
