Full Distance Triathlon Hamburg Germany – Conquer Your Race with the 44-Week Beginner Training Plan

This incredible event takes you through one of Europe’s most iconic cities: a 3.8 km swim through the scenic Inner and Outer Alster, a 179 km fast and flat bike course passing landmarks like the Reeperbahn and Speicherstadt, and a 42.2 km run winding along the waterfront and historic city center. With warm air and water temperatures averaging around 70–73°F (21–23°C), conditions are perfect for a breakthrough race.

To help you achieve your best performance on race day, we’ve designed the 44-Week Full Distance Triathlon Beginner Training Plan, built specifically for athletes targeting success in Hamburg’s unique urban course.

This comprehensive program starts with a 12-week base phase that builds your aerobic foundation, strength, and conditioning. You'll begin with 4.5 hours per week, gradually increasing volume and intensity with purpose. Week 12 culminates in a Brick Endurance Test to assess progress and readiness.

The remaining 32 weeks progressively build from 7.5 to 15 training hours per week, providing the endurance and race-specific conditioning needed to thrive on Hamburg’s flat, fast terrain. Whether you're looking to cross the finish line for the first time or set a personal record, this plan adapts to your current fitness level and training availability.
