Full Distance Triathlon Hamburg Germany – Your Journey Starts Here

Welcome to one of Europe’s most exhilarating endurance events—the Full Distance Triathlon Hamburg, Germany. Set against the backdrop of one of the continent’s most vibrant cities, this race challenges you with a 3.8 km (2.4-mile) swim through the Inner and Outer Alster starting from Jungfernstieg, a fast and flat 179 km bike ride past historic landmarks and the lush Vier- und Marschlande, and a four-loop 42.2 km (26.2-mile) run through downtown Hamburg with the city cheering you on every step of the way.

This race is tailor-made for speed. But success here doesn’t just come from grit—it comes from the right preparation.

How the 36-Week Full Distance Triathlon Plan Elevates Your Race
This plan is built for first-time full distance triathletes who want to show up in Hamburg fully prepared—physically, mentally, and strategically. The first 12 weeks lay your foundation. With step-by-step swim drill videos, technique refinement, and strength-focused base work, you’ll build confidence and fitness without burnout.

From there, you’ll transition into 24 weeks of structured, progressive full distance triathlon training. You’ll peak at 14.5 hours per week, gradually building volume and intensity so your body adapts to the demands of Hamburg’s flat and fast terrain.Brick workouts simulate race day challenges. Long rides and tempo sessions help you master pacing. And our open water training protocols will ensure you feel at home in the Alster’s 70°F (21°C) waters.
