The Full Distance Triathlon Lanzarote is one of the most demanding endurance events in the world. With a 3.8km ocean swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic, a grueling 180km bike ride through volcanic terrain with over 2,500 meters of climbing, and a sun-drenched 42.2km marathon along the island’s coastal roads, this race is as mentally demanding as it is physical. To conquer it, you need more than just ambition—you need a proven training strategy.

This 44-week training plan is designed for athletes like you—dedicated, driven, and ready to take on Lanzarote.

It begins with a 12-week foundation phase to build base endurance, strength, and conditioning. Swim drills help refine technique, and carefully structured brick workouts prepare you for the demands of race day. By Week 13, you’ll start to increase volume and intensity, peaking at 14 hours of training per week by Week 39—all strategically planned to maximize performance while minimizing risk of injury or burnout.
