Plan Description

FULL DIST TRIATHLON TEXAS - Dive into the excitement with a 2.4-mile swim in the pristine waters of Lake Woodlands. Starting at North Shore Park, you'll glide through a scenic canal, concluding at the vibrant Town Green Park. With the freshwater lake's average temperature of 74ยฐF, you can choose to swim with or without a wetsuit.

Embark on a thrilling 112-mile bike ride through The Woodlands and Northern Harris County. This fast, flat course features two loops on the Hardy Toll Road and is mostly closed to traffic, ensuring a smooth ride. Be ready for some wind and plenty of sun exposureโ€”don't forget your sunscreen!

Cap off your journey with a 26.2-mile run, a three-lap course around the picturesque Lake Woodlands. Feel the energy of the incredible spectators, especially at Hippie Hollow, where tie-dye banners, twinkling lights, and costumed performers create a magical atmosphere, especially after sunset. Your unforgettable day concludes with a spectacular finish on Waterway Ave. With an average air temperature of 82ยฐF (28ยฐC), Ironman Texas promises an exhilarating and memorable experience.

About The SIX-MONTH ADVANCED Full DIST Plan

But before you dive in, a word of caution: Prerequisite training or base mileage is non-negotiable. This is not a plan for beginners. We repeat, ATTEMPT this program only after having first developed your base Aerobic System. Our Full DIST plan kicks off with a challenging 25-minute Anaerobic Threshold Interval Training session in week one. Are you up for the challenge?
