Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Taupō, New Zealand, the Full Distance Triathlon New Zealand is more than a race—it’s a rite of passage. With its pristine 3.8km swim in Lake Taupō, a 180km bike through rolling countryside, and a scenic 42.2km lakeside run, this event promises a powerful blend of physical challenge and natural beauty. Comfortable race-day temps (avg. 74°F / 23°C) and unmatched community support make it one of the most celebrated triathlons in the world.

🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Welcome to the 44-Week Advanced Training Plan

🔥 12-Week Foundation Phase
We begin with a progressive 12-week base phase that builds critical aerobic capacity and muscular endurance. Starting at 6 hours per week and building to 10+, this phase ensures your body is prepared for the structured work to follow. It finishes with a Brick endurance test, giving you a fitness benchmark to launch from.

📆 32-Week Full Distance Triathlon-Specific Program
This plan uses a smart 3:1 training-to-recovery rhythm to prevent burnout and promote growth. Spanning base, build, peak, and taper phases, we systematically improve endurance, speed, and mental toughness.

⏰ Progressive Load, Peak Performance
You’ll start around 10 hours/week and climb to a peak of 18 hours by week 39. A dedicated 4-week taper phase ensures you reach Taupō fresh, confident, and race-ready.
