Plan Description

This Beginner Full 140.6 Distance (2.4 mi swim, 112 mi bike, 26.2 mi run) Triathlon Program is perfect for the triathlete that has perhaps only completed a sprint or olympic triathlon. Over the course of 36 weeks the athlete will safely accumulate volume and intensity to successfully prepare them for their "A" race.

This plan begins at just 3 hours on the first week and slowly builds up to an 16-18 hour training week. Please note that the 18 hours is variable based on your swim, bike, or running pace. If you come from a swim, bike, or run background then perhaps your peak weak will only be 15-16 hours, but everyone will still cover the same distance in training to prepare for the race's demands.

This plan utilizes athlete's Threshold Heart Rate Zones for the bike and the run.

Train using HR, Rate of Percieved Effort, Power or Pace. By following this 36 week journey athlete's bodies and mind will be prepared for race day.

The rest day on this plan is set up for Monday, but if you have premium TrainingPeaks you can alter rest day to another day of the week depending on the athlete's work/life schedule.
