Your Half Distance | 12-Week Beginner Confidence Plan
Stepping up to a Half Distance Triathlon is a massive personal challenge. This 12-week program takes away the guesswork, giving you a clear path to the finish line. We focus on building the belief that you can handle the 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and 21.1km run. This is about proving to yourself that you can achieve a major goal through consistent preparation that fits around your job and family.

For a developing swimmer, the priority is better technique and feeling calm in the water. You will build the stamina needed for the distance before moving into sessions that help you hold your pace. This approach makes sure you improve and build the belief needed to finish your race with pride. Every hour you spend training helps you feel more prepared and confident for race day.
How This Helps You
- Better Technique: Simple swim sessions to help you move through the water with less effort.
- Clear Routine: A schedule that works with your career, focusing on the most useful sessions.
- Pacing Skills: Guidance to help you manage your effort on the bike to protect your run.
- Staying Strong: Included strength work to help your body handle the training miles.

Your 12-Week Roadmap
- Weeks 1-4: Routine. Find your current pace and build basic stamina.
- Weeks 5-8: Build. Safely increase training time as you build the confidence for longer sessions.
- Weeks 9-12: The Race. A simple taper to help you recover so you feel ready on race morning.
Is This Your Next Step?
- Developing Swimmers: You swim 100m in 2:30–3:30, cycle for 60m, and run for 40m.
- First-Timers: You want a reliable plan to build the belief that you can finish strongly.
- Busy Professionals: You want to be told exactly what to do each day to get a good result.
