This is a 16-week intermediate plan for a 70.3. It can also be used for advanced beginners that have the proper equipment.
This plan does require the use of power for indoors for all bike rides. A smart trainer is recommended along with means of power for the bike for the long rides which are designed to be rode outdoors.
A heart rate monitor for bikes and runs is suggested. You will need paddles, a kick board, fins and a bull buoy for the swims. A snorkel is optional.
You will need to have set your threshold paces for swim, bike, and run in TrainingPeaks.
You should be able to swim a minimum of 1500 yards/meters, run for 30 minutes and ride for 45 minutes at the beginning of this plan. Swims are designed for either a 25 yard or meter pool.
Distance Maximums:
Swim: 2800 yards/meters
Bike: 4 hours for outdoor ride
Run: 2 hours for run
