Every session in this Half Distance Masters 40+ Triathlon Training Plan is built to prepare you for Alghero’s stunning yet challenging course—from the calm emerald bay swim to the rolling Mediterranean roads and coastal run through the old town. Over 44 weeks, you’ll develop the endurance, strength, and race-day confidence needed to perform at your best in one of Italy’s most scenic triathlons.

🌊 Swim Ready for San Giovanni Beach
Progressive open-water workouts mirror Alghero’s 1.9 km protected harbor swim. Technique drills and pacing sets improve efficiency and comfort in 18 °C waters, ensuring you start strong and relaxed.

🚴 Build Power for the 90 km Coastal Ride
Structured power- and heart-rate-based bike sessions prepare you for the 850 m of climbing and ever-changing scenery around Porto Conte. Bricks combine cycling and running to refine your pacing along the coastline and sharpen transitions for race day.

🏃 Run the Harbor Loops with Confidence
Tempo and endurance runs simulate Alghero’s three-loop coastal run, blending aerobic conditioning with race-pace work. The plan’s periodized 3:1 structure promotes fitness gains while reducing fatigue.
