The plan’s open-water simulation workouts and structured technique drills prepare you to master the 1.2-mile one-lap swim with calm efficiency. With water temperatures averaging 76 °F (24 °C), your sessions include wetsuit-optional pacing and sighting practice—helping you find rhythm in tranquil yet variable lake conditions.

🚴 Bike Strength for Shasta County’s Rolling Terrain:
The 56-mile bike course features 2,530 ft of elevation gain and nearly 1,000 ft of net loss—perfect for strong riders who can sustain power over rolling hills. You’ll train with Heart Rate & Power-based intervals that mirror these undulating efforts, building muscular endurance and efficient climbing. Each session sharpens your ability to handle fast descents and maintain momentum on smooth roads for a PR-worthy split.

Your 13.1-mile race along the riverfront and across the Sundial Bridge demands pacing precision and durability. The plan integrates brick workouts and progressive tempo runs to simulate the flat-to-slightly-rolling riverside paths.
