Introducing the Intermediate 36-Week Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan – built to prepare you for success on the breathtaking course of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain.

The race begins with a 1.9 km swim in Ulibarri-Gamboa Lake, a calm body of drinking-quality water. Our plan prepares you with progressive open-water sessions and drills that sharpen your technique, ensuring you exit the water strong and confident.

Next comes the 90 km single-loop bike course through the rolling Álava region, with smooth roads and 500 m of elevation. Targeted bike workouts in this program include strength endurance rides, tempo sessions, and power-based intervals – so you’re ready for both sustained speed and subtle climbs. You’ll ride with the same rhythm and efficiency required to excel on this scenic route.

The race finishes with a flat and fast 21 km run through downtown Vitoria-Gasteiz, supported by thousands of cheering spectators. Our plan gradually builds volume and integrates brick sessions, VO₂ max intervals, and threshold workouts to help you thrive on the two-loop course and deliver your best run performance to the finish line in Plaza España.
