This six-month Half Distance Triathlon Training Plan is designed for Masters athletes over 40 seeking to improve endurance, strength, and race-day performance. The program aligns perfectly with the unique challenges of the Puerto Varas course.

🏊‍♂️ Swim Preparedness: With a 1.9 km swim in the calm waters of Lake Llanquihue, this plan emphasizes technique, efficiency, and open-water confidence. Video swim drills and RPE-guided sessions ensure you can maintain a strong, steady pace for the single-loop course.

🚴‍♂️ Bike Performance: The 90 km ride alongside Lake Llanquihue and rolling countryside, with 788 meters of elevation, demands sustainable power and climbing ability. Progressive endurance workouts and power-based bike sessions train you to maintain speed on gentle flats and navigate ascents with energy to spare.

🏃‍♂️ Run Readiness: The 21 km, three-loop run around Puerto Varas’ Costanera and city streets features mostly flat terrain with one hill. The plan’s run progression builds stamina, lactate threshold, and race pacing so you can tackle the loops confidently while enjoying the scenic lake and volcano views.
