The Half Distance Triathlon in Puerto Varas Chile offers a stunning course that combines scenic Lake Llanquihue, views of the Osorno Volcano, and tranquil rural landscapes. Our six-month Half Distance Triathlon training plan is designed to prepare you to tackle every aspect of this unforgettable race with confidence and endurance.

✅ Built for Beginners: Start with a four- to six-week aerobic base and progressively build your fitness. This plan supports athletes aiming to complete the Half Distance Triathlon, focusing on essential swimming, biking, and running skills.

✅ Swim Preparation: Lake Llanquihue’s calm waters make for a beautiful 1.9KM loop swim. Our training plan emphasizes swim technique, endurance, and open-water adaptation, ensuring you glide efficiently and maintain energy for the bike segment.

✅ Bike Readiness: The 90KM bike route along Ruta V-69 features gentle flat terrain, scenic lakeside stretches, and rolling climbs totaling 788 meters. Structured interval bike sessions and V02 threshold workouts in this plan build both leg strength and aerobic capacity, so you’ll feel strong from Puerto Varas through Ensenada and back.

✅ Run Conditioning: The 21KM three-loop course along Puerto Varas’ city streets and lakeside Costanera is mostly flat with one hill. Our plan includes tempo runs, endurance sessions, and race-specific pacing strategies to help you sustain energy and maintain speed throughout each loop.
