The Half Distance Triathlon Puerto Varas Chile Training Plan is your ultimate guide to performing at your best in one of the most scenic triathlon events in the world. Designed for athletes with Olympic distance experience, this 24-week plan prepares you to excel across all three disciplines of the Half Distance Triathlon while enjoying the stunning landscapes of Lake Llanquihue, Osorno Volcano, and Puerto Varas.

🏊 Swim Mastery – With a 1.9KM open water swim in calm, crystal-clear waters, our plan emphasizes endurance, technique, and pacing. Guided video drills and structured sessions simulate the lake’s single-loop course, ensuring you enter the water confident and in control.

🚴 Bike Strength & Endurance – The 90KM bike course features flat stretches, gentle ascents, and breathtaking views along Ruta V-69. Our heart rate and power-based cycling workouts mimic these conditions, building climbing strength, sustained power, and efficient energy management to tackle the total 788 meters of elevation with ease.

🏃‍♂️ Run Efficiency – The 21KM, three-loop run along Puerto Varas’ city streets and Costanera by the lake demands stamina and rhythm. Interval sessions, brick workouts, and RPE-guided training prepare you for this mostly flat course while conditioning your legs to handle the final challenge after the swim and bike.

✅ Structured Progression – 3 weeks of focused training followed by 1 week of active recovery keeps your fitness climbing without overtraining. Start at 7 hours per week and progress to 12 hours, building endurance, speed, and resilience.

✅ Strength & Conditioning – Targeted strength sessions, including full video guidance*, improve core stability, injury prevention, and overall power for swimming, biking, and running.
