The Beginner’s Six-Month Half Distance Triathlon Plan is designed to prepare you for the exact challenges of the Omaha course—so you arrive on race day confident, prepared, and ready to perform.

✅ Built for Beginners – This plan is ideal if you’ve built a 4–6 week aerobic base and are ready to train for a Half Distance Triathlon. It builds fitness progressively so you can master each leg of the Omaha course without feeling overwhelmed.

✅ Swim Preparedness for Lake Cunningham – Calm water doesn’t mean an easy swim. You’ll develop open-water confidence with drills that improve sighting, pacing, and efficiency, ensuring you handle the single-loop, 1.2-mile swim and Transition 1 smoothly.

✅ Bike Strength for Rolling Nebraska Hills – The 56-mile ride features rolling climbs, fast descents, and wide-open countryside. Targeted intervals, and endurance rides sessions prepare your legs for sustained efforts, while also teaching pacing for the flat sections heading into Omaha.

✅ Run Endurance for the Missouri River Trails – The 13.1-mile run includes the iconic Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge—twice. Your plan includes tempo runs, brick workouts, and mental pacing strategies so you can run strong from start to finish on this scenic, two-lap course.

✅ Comprehensive Conditioning – Strength training, core stability, and mobility work reduce injury risk and enhance performance in all three disciplines. Each session comes with video guidance* for proper technique.
