Plan Description

The Middle Distance Triathlon in Xiamen, China is a fast, flat, and scenic race across the dedicated coastal tracks of Tong’an Bay. This 36-week advanced training plan is engineered to prepare you for every element of this unique course — from the warm, counter-clockwise 1.9km swim to the smooth, traffic-free 90km bike and the flat, PB-friendly 21.1km run.

Starting with a 12-week foundation phase and progressing into a 24-week race-specific build, the plan follows a proven 3:1 training cycle — three weeks of progressive load followed by one week of active recovery. You’ll begin at 9.5 hours per week and peak at 14.5 hours, ensuring you arrive at the start line in peak condition.
