The course features a 1.9 km swim in the crystal-clear waters off Forte Village Resort beach, a challenging 90 km bike route on fully closed, newly renovated roads through scenic coastal towns including Pula and Sant’Anna Arresi—with a technical layout and a significant 7 km descent—and a 21 km two-lap run along Santa Margherita di Pula beach, past historic landmarks, finishing in the resort’s heart.

Our 36-week Intermediate Middle Distance Triathlon Training Plan builds the precise fitness and skills you need to tackle this course with confidence and speed.

✅ Progressive Base Building — The first 12 weeks focus on swim strength and technique, crucial for mastering the open water swim section. This foundation supports efficient energy use during the swim leg of the Middle Distance Triathlon.

✅ Specific Endurance and Power Development — The subsequent 24 weeks increase training volume from 7.5 to 12 hours weekly, honing your endurance for the demanding 90 km bike course with technical terrain and elevation changes. Structured workouts utilize heart rate and power zones, helping you ride strong and controlled on the challenging descents and scenic coastal roads.

✅ Run Endurance and Pacing — With the 21 km two-lap run along the beach and through historic areas, tempo runs and brick workouts are integrated to prepare your legs for maintaining speed after the bike leg, ensuring you finish strong in the Middle Distance Triathlon.
