Plan Description

This Middle Distance Triathlon training plan is engineered for experienced triathletes aged 60+ who want to perform with strength, efficiency, and resilience on the stunning yet challenging Peguera Mallorca course. Every session is strategically designed to prepare you for the unique swim, bike, and run conditions you’ll face on race day.

🏊 Swim Readiness for Torà Beach – Open-water skills, sighting practice, and interval sets mimic the two-lap course and short beach run between laps, ensuring you’re comfortable in warm, saltwater conditions and ready to maintain pace after re-entry.

🚴 Bike Power & Control – Progressive hill repeats, threshold intervals, and long rides build the strength and handling needed for the technical 90 km bike with ~1,000 m total elevation gain. You’ll be prepared for the climbs through Es Capdellà and Calvià, as well as the fast, controlled descents toward coastal resorts where speeds may reach 70 kph.

🏃 Run Durability & Speed – Four-lap simulation runs prepare you for the boulevard-to-boardwalk terrain mix. Strength-endurance sessions improve your ability to sustain form on concrete, asphalt, and tile, while interval work sharpens your finishing kick through the plaza at the beach-boulevard junction.
